SPARKA FAQ

Is Stevia safe? It's not available as a "food additive", so how is Stevia provided in Sparka?

Stevia is a plant originating from South and Central America that has been used for centuries by the indigenous populations of these areas. Stevia is considered one of the world's safest natural herbs. It has been used extensively in Japan, Brazil, China and many other countries for decades (as a valuable herb and as a sweetener). There have been no significant reports of toxicity or other side effects.

For unclear reasons, the U.S. FDA does not permit the use of Stevia "as a food additive", and in particular, disallows the description of "Stevia" as a "sweetener" on any food label. The FDA does of course permit the use of Stevia in dietary supplements, such as herbal pills or nutritional drinks (like Sparka), providing that the product is clearly identified as a dietary supplement.

All Sparka products are nutritional dietary supplements, supplying Stevia, Vitamin C, and Calcium. For this reason, Sparka products are extraordinarily healthful—you not only get one of the world's best tasting natural drinks, you also get all the benefits of the nutritional supplementation Sparka provides!
